Six Whitman-Hanson Panthers have been named as Patriot League Keenan Division All-Stars.
Taylor McVeigh – The senior forward played an integral role in helping the Panthers crack into the tournament. The two-time Patriot League All-Star and W-H captain netted a career-high 19 points in a Jan. 20, 65-49, win over Quincy, dumped in 15 points and snatched 13 boards in a Feb. 7, 63-32, win over Pembroke, and scored 16 points to complement 13 rebounds in the Panthers’ 54-49 first-round loss to Falmouth. McVeigh also took home the girls’ basketball team’s scholar athlete award.
Sophie O’Brien — The senior center strung together an impressive campaign yet again en route to being tabbed as a Patriot League All-Star for back-to-back seasons. The Panthers captain put forth a double-double (10 points, 12 rebounds) in W-H’s season- opening 54-50 win over Bridgewater-Raynham Dec. 13, and pumped in 16 points Jan. 20 against Quincy.
Lucas Franklin — The senior guard and captain helped to power W-H on both sides of the ball. Franklin tallied 11 points in a Jan. 10, 57-47, win over Duxbury, dropped 13 points against Oliver Ames March 3 in a 76-66 Division 2 South Sectional quarterfinals victory and brought down seven boards in a 51-48 victory Westwood March 8 in the Division 2 South Sectional semifinals. Franklin was named the boys’ basketball team’s scholar athlete.
Jacob Hanson-Bartlett — Filling the starting forward role, the junior thrived. Hanson- Bartlett was one of four non-seniors to crack the Patriot League Keenan Division All-Star roster. The big man recorded his most impressive game Jan. 31 against Scituate – scoring 17 points and snagging 10 boards. In a 64-30 win over North Quincy Dec. 20, the forward tallied 14 points and 12 rebounds and against Westwood March 8, he powered W-H down low with eight points and seven rebounds.
Nikko Raftes — The senior guard picked up the slack left behind by the eight departing seniors last season. The captain scored 23 points in a Feb. 14, 74-72, win over Duxbury, tossed in 22 points Feb. 21 in a 62-55 senior night victory over Bridgewater-Raynham and exploded for 27 points March 3 against Oliver Ames. Raftes was also voted as Patriot League Keenan Division MVP.
Luke Tamulevich — The senior forward strung together a career-year leading the Panthers into the playoffs. The W-H captain pumped in 27 points in a Jan. 6, 69-61, win over Plymouth North, tossed in 21 points and grabbed 10 boards in a Jan. 31, 71-54, victory over Scituate and recorded a game-high 18 points in the Westwood title March 8.

The Patriot League All-Star games will take place Friday, March 17 at Whitman-Hanson. The boys will tip at 6 p.m. and the girls will follow at 7:30.
