Ryan Stephansky, a Whitman-Hanson Regional High School senior has been named a recipient of a Principal’s Leadership Award Scholarship, co-sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals and Herff Jones, Inc. One hundred national state PLA winners were chosen from among more than 3,100 applications. Each state winner will receive a $1,000 college scholarship.

Happy birthday Janis McGrory (May 1), Mim Sevigny (May 6), Jamie Flanagan (May 7), Dawna Colley (May 10), Dorothy Paine, Ruth Isaslo (May 12), Felicia Mykes (May 13).

Suzanne Bernier, a junior at Brandeis University, had an All-UAA performance at the 2009 University Athletic Association Outdoor Track and Field Championship held at Carnegie Mellon. Junior captain Bernier had a third place finish in the high jump with a height of 1.56 meters (5 ft. l ¼ in.). Bernier is a 2006 graduate of Whitman-Hanson Regional High School and is the daughter of Donald and Kathleen Bernier of Hanson.

Andrew Sharp, a Whitman-Hanson Regional High School student has been selected for membership in the National Society of High School Seniors.  The society recognizes top scholars and invites only those students who have achieved superior academic excellence. Sharp is a sophomore at Whitman-Hanson, a class officer, National Honor Society member and a three-sport athlete.
